This is the more well-known short of
the boys playing their instruments on a barge as it travels down
the River Thames, passing by the House of Commons and other attractions.
I wish we had music like this today instead of the junk they
call music. Wish I could have been a teen in the 60's and 70's. It's great they shot this video sailing down the Thames through
the awesome London. the golden age of music! Yellow River is a great album,
too bad it is a shrouded mystery why it did not ever get much
play time on top 40 I remember coming home in '68 ... the turn of phrase "cannon
fire lingers in my mind. I'm so glad that I'm still alive."
Good song Fabulous video. Are these guys not the absolute epitome of
late 60's/early '70's British rock 'n roller's or what? The big
hair, sideburns, bellbottoms and boots ... the drummer's scowling
makes me howl! So very London! All time great song. Thanks!! Just wonder where is this 3-piece band now? Are they still
in one piece? Their songs were a must play during my time at the
weekend party in the 70s. I was crazy about them then. Now it's
even more convenient for me to listen to all their songs here.
Great! Brings back memorys! Excellent band!! Another classic from my childhood, my dad used to play all
the time Used to sing this song in a country(!) band. Had an excellent
lead guitarist named Danny Brawley who played a Strat copy by
Carvin. Great sound. He died several years ago, but I think of

thanks for posting this! I'm 16 and I have not long discovered some of the great music
from long before I was born: thanks for puting this song on the
net. One of my favorite songs. The group is not what I thought
they'd look like. I remember where I was when I first heard it. The car I had
was a '61 Rambler. Some days, this maturity thing just sucks! The drummer looks like a zombie! I saw this video when I was 10 on a show called the Now Explosion.
I think Vanity Fare and Crabby Appleton were on that show too. Funny, I remember seeing this group on the same show ... I
grew up in New York City. I was 13 when this came out. Always loved the song but never
saw this group. Supposedly, when the song was big in the charts,
they refused to play for the Queen because they were expected
to wear tuxedos. They weren't the most handsome looking guys either.
The drummer kinda has a cro magnum/cinder block look going. One of the greatest pop songs ever. This is great! My, my ... very high quality video. Thanks for posting it.
One of my favorite songs. Beautiful song .. .I heard this song when I was 12, in 1970
... until now I enjoy it. I am from Peru, we also love rock´n
roll. I had the 45rpm of this song back in 1971. Great song. A great song from 70s, until now I love this song so much. While in the marines, listening to it made me dream of home
and hot trail back. Stationed in Mons, this was being played on all the juke boxes
in the cafe/bars; many a happy memory of the early 70s in the
eary hours ! ! Check out our boy on the drum kit. Are you allowed to hold
sticks like that? How's about the double kick drum? He probably

it than I enjoy it even more now! This sounds slow compared to the record. Released 1970, what
a decade, so much diversity. This reminds me of my uncle in the 70s. He used to play this
in his band. When I hear this song it reminds me of my younger days. The first music I heard in my life .... I don't have words. Man, I love this song ... I first heard this song in the early
eighties. As an American kid in Saudi Arabia in '75 I remember a local
group covering this. I was very young but it's still very clear.

was a video - love youtube The best song from 1970. I REMEMBER! A few years later The Sex Pistols took a notorious boat ride
on the same river, and also passed by the houses of parliament.

Ha! Ha! Wow!!!! I have been waiting all my life for this video. Thank
you for sharing! One of my all time favorite songs, with a number of personal
connections. I first heard it in Spain. What a treat to hear it
and see this video. This was a band on Deram in 1967 called The Outer Limits (Just
One More Chance). Christie was next. Their single, The
Dealer, from 1973, is great. Wow - that boat must be moving. They're at Westminster when
the video starts, and at the end, they're out at Richmond! Nice, but those artists would drown in the real Yellow River. Always makes me smile. Reminds me of the A1 for some reason
though. This is a really great song! I remember seeing these guys
on some TV program and I liked them instantly. Great sound! Well, they could have at least LOOKED like they were happy
... still, great stuff ! Who knew there even WAS a video for this
song ? Wow .. one in a million chance a song from 1970 even HAD a
video... This is one of the great bands. That's what I like about YouTube,

The best group from the 70s!!! You beautie, I've been looking for this one for ages. That's
so cool. This song was a big hit in the summer of 1970 in Mexico. I
was six years old and remember visiting Leon, Guanajuato and the
World Cup was well under way when this song on the air. GREAT POSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That song brings me way back to when life was simple. sigh!
wah! wah! boo hoo! Jeff Christie seems to be much like the British/ German version
of our Rick Springfield. One big hit, a couple smaller ones, looks
good, plays guitar same style, and does concert tours forever!
What a great life! Jeff never wrote anything as good as this song. |
