The mayor of
the city of San Bernardino is a Christie fan! This article

MAYORAL RUN-OFF
With the help
of his friend Stevie Earp (left) and his brother Phil
Morris, Pat Morris (right) leads his guests in the
Christie song San Bernardino at his campaign office
in San Bernardino on Tuesday night. Stevie is a descendant
of Western legend Wyatt Earp .. very appropriate when
you consider Jeff Christie's affection for Americana.

Pat Morris beat four rivals in the San
Bernardino mayoral election Tuesday (Nov 8, 2005), but still
fell short of the majority vote he needed to avoid a run-off.
Morris will face City Attorney Jim Penman in
another election on February 7, 2006. Morris received 45
per cent of the vote, just short of the 50 per cent required
to take office.
"This is marvellously encouraging, just
six points away from victory," Morris said. "I
have a vision for the future of our city, with safe streets
and more and better jobs, and the voters have responded
to that".
At Morris' campaign headquarters next to City
Hall, about 150 festive supporters circulated and yelled
greetings to friends, while a giant screen flashed the latest
campaign numbers. Salsa music blared.
Pat Morris loves the Christie song San
Bernardino and is backing its adoption as the city's
official song. Morris is a judge and can often be heard
singing the song inside council chambers!
Update: Pat eventually
won by a landslide majority.
